Five years ago, we began dreaming about investing in families. We were concerned that families were being underserved by the existing offerings in the marketplace. We sought to create a cornerstone in the community where families could learn, work, gather and celebrate in a fresh and new way.
The foundation for this new concept would be a loving learning center, where the environment and culture would set a new standard in childcare. Each child would be supported in their growth mentally, physically, relationally and emotionally. Each teacher would be supported in their desire to provide the best care to their students. And each family would be supported in their desire to connect with their childcare providers and with each other on a deeper level.
Since work is an essential part of family life, we applied the same focus to providing the community with a calm and inspiring place to work. Today, nearly one-third of us are freelance and independent professionals, creating a need for flexible workspace. Together with the learning center, we sought to create the largest coworking facility in the nation with on-site licensed childcare. A common work area, a coffee shop, private offices and meeting rooms would combine to create the perfect environment to get work done.
Finally, our vision for a family center would not be complete without a place for the community to gather. The centerpiece would be a large, state-of-the-art theater for family functions, worship services and corporate events. Together with the rest of the center’s amenities, Phase would stand out as a truly unique event space.
After years of planning, we feel blessed to finally bring this concept to life. We are excited to see the many inventive ways the community is using the family center and we hope that it provides everyone with an opportunity to gather with friends to shape the future.
Founder + CEO Orange
Reggie Joiner is the founder and CEO of Orange, a non-profit organization whose purpose is to influence those who influence the next generation. Orange provides resources and training for churches and organizations that create environments for parents, kids, and teenagers. Prior to Orange, Reggie co-founded North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia, with Andy Stanley. During his 11 years as the executive director of family ministry, he developed a new concept for relevant ministry for children, teenagers, and married adults. Reggie and his wife, Debbie, live in Cumming, Georgia, and have four children: Reggie Paul, Hannah, Sarah, and Rebekah.
Kristen is the President of Orange (The reThink Group, Inc.) and the Co-Founder and Director of The Phase Project. She and her husband Matt are currently parenting their three amazing children through the phases. Before beginning her career at Orange in 2006, Kristen earned her bachelors of education from Baylor University in 2004 and a Master of Divinity from Mercer University in 2009. She worked in the public school system as a high school Biology and English teacher where she learned firsthand the joy and importance of influencing the next generation. At Orange, Kristen has played an integral role in the development of the elementary, middle school, and high school curriculums and has shared her experiences at speaking events across the country. Kristen is the co-host of the Parent Cue Live, a weekly podcast for parents. She is also the co-author of twenty-four books, including her latest release: 18-part Phase Guides series (Parenting Your New Baby,Parenting Your One-Year Old…).
Investments + President & CEO Kendrick Capital Management
Michael Kendrick is President and CEO of Kendrick Capital Management, his Atlanta-based private equity and venture capital firm, where he invests into new start-up and existing enterprises that have strategic alignment with a Christian mission and worldview. Michael has over 25 years of experience in the investment banking and fund management fields. As an investment banker and private equity investor, Michael has raised, invested, or made equity commitments in excess of a billion dollars in private equity financing for over 170 different companies. He has used the knowledge gained in his business career as a catalyst for founding, developing, and funding organizations dedicated to Christian ministry. In 1999, Michael founded Ministry Ventures, a non-profit organization dedicated to launching new ministries for Christ. Since that time, Ministry Ventures has been instrumental in launching over 50 new Christian, non-profit organizations. Michael and his wife, Michele, reside in Alpharetta, Georgia, with their two sons and one daughter.
Frank Bealer is the CEO of Phase Family Center, an organization dedicated to shaping the future by building community among millennial families. Prior to Phase Family Center, Frank was the Executive Director of Family Ministry at Elevation Church (one of the fastest growing and largest churches in America). Prior to his time at Elevation, Frank was the President of a large retail insurance firm operating in 47 states. Frank and his wife, Jessica, live in Cumming, Georgia, and have four children: Micah, James, Isaac, and Layla.
Jeff was formerly the SVP Retail for Carter’s and OshKosh B’Gosh, where he helped build over 600 new locations and was responsible for over $1B in sales, 800 locations, and 7,000 employees. Prior to joining Carter’s, Jeff was a Manager for Bain & Company. Jeff holds an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. Jeff and his wife, Heather, live in Brookhaven, Georgia and have three children: Carter, Abby and Luke.
